Holiday Happenings in Carlisle

We absolutely love the holiday season. We get a chance to visit with many of our loyal customers as they unpack their holiday decorations from their Carlisle storage units, in preparation to deck the halls at home. Plus, there are so many things to see and do in our Carlisle, PA community this time of year; we are never at a loss for entertainment!

Our Trindle Self Storage staff is always eager to share with you what’s happening in our neck of the Pennsylvania “woods”. We’ve put together a list of events that you won’t want to miss this month.

• Looking for some live music? Why not head over to Dickinson College on December 3rd to hear some talented students perform in the Chamber Music Concert? The music begins at 7 PM at Rubendall Recital Hall, located in the Weiss Center for the Arts. If you can’t make it on the 3rd, there will be a seasonal concert on the 8th of December at Memorial Hall. For more information, contact the college at 717-243-5121.

• Santa Claus is coming to town on December 6th! Bring your family to downtown Carlisle for a tree lighting ceremony, free pictures with Santa, carriage rides and story time with Mrs. Claus.

• If you like history and exercise, you may want to join the First United Church of Christ as they lead an advent walking tour of our Carlisle churches on December 7th. The walk begins promptly at 1:15 PM and is free to attend. Help the UCC celebrate their 250th anniversary with this historic stroll. For more details, call 717-243-2512.

• Immerse yourself in the splendor of George Balanchine’s The NutcrackerTM, performed by our very own Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Performances are scheduled for December 14th and 15th at the Whitaker Center, and December 21st and 22nd at the Hershey Theatre. Tickets can be purchased for the Whitaker Center by calling 717.214.ARTS. Hershey Theatre tickets can be reserved by contacting their staff at 717.534.3405.

• Looking for a family friendly event for New Year’s Eve? Search no more! First Night is an alcohol-free New Year’s celebration held in our beloved downtown Carlisle that highlights visual and performing art in all its splendor. To find out more about this event, or to get involved, please call 717-258-0666.

Let us know what your favorite local holiday events are the next time you come to check on your storage unit. We’ll be sure to add them to the list!
